Hello 2020…

High tailing it to Vegas and leaving my hometown would normally have me in a frenzy but not this girl, I’m purging while packing and simplifying my life. I couldn’t be more excited to be out with the old and in with the new or at least new to me…So, cheers to the New Year and may you all have the fresh start you deserve!

Once you’ve decided to clean out and clean up, whether it’s your kitchen pantry, under the bathroom sink or your closet, I encourage you to take everything out to get a proper start. The shelf life of sun screen, nail polish, and other toiletries will surprise you. So, ladies if it’s been a couple years toss it…always better to be safe than sorry.

I couldn’t be happier classic blue is making another debut. One way or another blue will always have a place in my home. My grandmother absolutely loved blue… Shades of the hue have filled my heart with happiness since I was a little girl. Most of my design projects will have a touch of blue incorporated somewhere and it’s never let me down.

2019’s Pantone Color of the year LIVING CORAL…

It’s not just another color on the runway. It’s the shade of a sexy sunset, a desert horizon, or blooming tulips in the spring.

It’s no coincidence this was chosen to be splashed all over this year…being the color of the coral reefs disappearing in our oceans, carefully chosen to bring awareness of what we all can do to bring about positive change.

I’m choosing to be inspired , get busy, and curate my future with all things good…Starting with recycling more, worrying less and being more gracious.

So, have fun with this happy hue and try it out if you’re ready for a change…

Thank you Thomas Jefferson for inventing the swivel chair!  What comes around goes around and this baby has made a come back!  So in love with a sexy swivel…Everyone should have at least one, but a pair is perfect preferably in velvet!

Winter Wonderland...So Cal Style

November Nesting

So, I've decided to do a bit of nesting this November and enjoy the season without it breaking the bank.  

It's no secret I love design and decorating is my vice but sometimes it takes a back burner during the holidays.  As we approach the busiest time of year with holiday parties, shopping and catching up with friends and family, extra cash to play is in rare form.  However where there's a will there's a way!

Create a new look by adding wall paper anywhere…somewhere, and frame your kids art.  Paint a piece of furniture even an old chair for a way to revamp, rearrange and repurpose...You bought it once because you liked it so why not make it new again?  Add a sexy sultry candle, light the fire, always use fresh flowers and Voila you're ready to host cocktail hour or relax solo cozy in your nest!

SUMMER SHAKE DOWN

 I'm obsessed over the shipping container movement.  About ten years ago was the first time we saw a shipping container used as a pop up shop for an art gallery, coffee stop or even as a home.  Creative, cost effective, and super cool!  If you haven't seen these around LA or in your hood I'm sure you will soon…Coolest Architectural and design trend to pop up (Literally) in a while.

Now you know I'm a So Cal girl so July just happens to be one of the best times to celebrate the sunny weather, BBQ's, the beach,  pool parties, live music, fireworks and all American baseball! Hopefully y'all did your spring cleaning so by now it's all about string lights, food on the grill and out door dining so you can enjoy the guests without the mess!  Love these plastic cups from World Market! 

Invite your friends to a summer happy hour al fresca at the beach!  Just add a few touches from home like pillows and a cool sheet to sit on, toss a palette down for your table and Bam! You just created a chill lounge on the sand!

Hello June Bug!

June gloom never gets me down because I know here in So Cal sunny days are always around the corner.  Fresh back from a week in the great outdoors with amazing weather, and music playing from dusk to dawn, this girl can honestly say I'm a Happy Camper…(No mistaking please, I'm a happier hotel goer)…XO

Check out how I survived! 

To keep the bugs away, I made an organic spray with peppermint oil and tee tree (It totally worked). I stayed hydrated with Everyone scentless lotion and of course drank a delicious Chocolate Arbonne shake every morning to keep me going! 

All the comforts from home...Well almost! I had the only teepee tent on the block and pretty sure the only accessory table to boot!  If I was going to survive a week long camping trip and my first shot at sleeping outdoors for decades,  I knew I had to make it comfy, cozy and do it in style! 

A pillow topper on my queen air mattress made all the difference. My vintage quilt, sunflower led's, a turned over tub for my stuff and mini metal folding table and boom!

Here we are…It's the middle of Spring, flowers are blooming and there's a sweetness in the air!

Whether you like to get dirty in the garden, chill at the beach,  turn up the music and dance around the house, in my book they all make for a perfect Spring day…Followed of course by a relaxing bath, a mimosa scented candle, glass of vino and a truly delicious at home spa treatment.

Blue all day

I love Blue…Ever since I can remember it's been my favorite color.  My grandmother loved blue and had the most amazing sense of style.  I like to think I inherently received the gift of loving blue from her.  I am forever grateful for this hue and never go wrong when I use it, wear it or swim in it!  Enjoy XX

Wallpaper Revival

We all know about trends and how one day it's in and next day it's out...One day its hot, the next day it's not!  Keeping up is nearly impossible or exhausting am I right?  I'm going against the masses on this one, especially when it comes to your own home.  I just can't toss, switch out, move over, or tuck away some of my favorite things because they're not trendy…Who decides this anyway?  The trend police?  Certainly I'm grateful to my favorite style icons #KellyWearstler and a few muses who fill me with inspiration, but the most important part of design is that it reflects your individuality, and that is never trendy just cool...

Is there really such a thing as too much of a good thing? I've been having a brass moment for well more than a moment now but this precious metal is just too good not to use.  Balance is key when you use something so shiny so maybe save it for a Rad Skull Lamp or a funky door knocker but I'm bonkers for Brass!  Visit my gallery to see this hardware used in my current project #Current #Love

Last but not least…The Vintage Vibe...The Resurrection and Revival of all groovy things from the past!  Somehow these little gems have resurfaced and are making there way into our lives one way or another!  It's no longer "Outdated" in fact that word is removed from the English language as far as I know…It's been replaced by Recycle, Upcycle, Repurpose and Reuse! So dig up your old tees and use a rug on your wall because truly anything goes (At least I say so.)

One of my all time favorite hues this Spring.  Often dismissed unless you're passing by Victoria Secret…Dare to get in touch with your inner blush, play with pantone and paint it Pink! XO

I'm loving this hue in every shade right now… It's seemingly better when you pair with more of the same!  Throwback or not it's one of my all time favorites.  My current crush is pink velvet on furniture or walls, drapery or pillows a pinch of pink will do just fine! Enjoy XO

Oh nobody…Are you kidding me? Where you ask?  Usually right here at the beach, although lately the sweet smell of jasmin may have clouded my brain.  I'm going camping…Or what I hope will be "Glamping" Planning a trip up North to the Strawberry Festival for a bit of Country, Bluegrass and the great out doors.  My plan is to pimp out my teepee tent like any girl would who can't stand bugs, dirt or being cold.  Wish me luck and may the warm California sun shine down on you all XO
